Week 74

The most exciting thing of the week happened on Friday.  Miles Keylonnie Stephens was adopted.  He has been in our family for 2 years and has been my grandson from the beginning, but now it is official.  Thanks to Zoom, I was able to see him being blessed at church today with his big brother Michael standing in the circle while Devin blessed him.  Michael also gave his farewell address before beginning his mission tomorrow.  I have so much to look forward to when I arrive home in 13 days.

I have walked the same route early in the mornings while I have been here.  I will miss saying hello to the people I see most mornings.  Here are a few photos from Saturday morning at sunrise.

I think this is the moon.  I don't know, but it was very beautiful.

This is a scene I see every morning that I walk.  He is bringing wood home that he found somewhere so cooking can be done over the outside fire.  Some people have to go get water from the nearest borehole as well as wood.

This is a common uniform worn by many workers.  Walking is the main mode of transportation here,

This roadside stand will be full of snacks or other items for sale in a few hours.

The roads in Harare have much to be desired.  This is the road in front of my apartment.  I know we drive on the left part of the road here, but it is more accurate to say that we drive on the part of the road that is left.

I got my hair done during Sacrament Meeting.  Someone sitting behind me thought it was adorable so sent this to me.

I took her, her mom Rosemary and brother Bradley home after Sacrament meeting because I had a big box of stuff for Rosemary that I am not taking home with me.  She was mad at Bradley about something.  He is trying to make her smile in the second picture.  Included in the box were the reading glasses on Bradley's head.  That's where he always sees mine so I guess he assumed that's where they go.
