Week 73
I am starting to say my good-byes. I will miss the association I have with the young Elders and Sisters. Those who live in the area often come into the office on Mondays, their p-days, for various reasons. Mondays are my favorite day at the office because I get to see them and help them with what they need.
This was Sister Graham. She is now Haysannah Graham because she completed her mission a few weeks ago. I felt close to her and she with me. Goodbyes are hard.
Sister Green and Sister Patrick.
Transfers happen every 6 weeks. This was the last one before I leave. Over 1/3 of our 180+ missionaries were transferred this time. The grounds of the Mission Office were swarming with missionaries. They love to mingle with friends that they don't see often on these days. I call transfer day Sister Stephens, Sister Stephens, Sister Stephens day. That's because I hear, "Sister Stephens, we need scriptures. Sister Stephens, we need pamphlets. Sister Stephens, I need a new badge. Sister Stephens, I lost my copy of my passport and need another one. Sister Stephens, I need you to get me an International Drivers License, etc etc, etc. I will miss those days.
Things I don't think I will see when I get home.
This is not a parking lot. It is in the middle of a 4 way intersection with no traffic lights working. It was a push through, free for all. I was riding with one of the senior couples Friday night going to dinner. Traffic stopped in the middle because there was no place for anyone to go. Finally one little car squeezed through and we were able to unjam.
It is good to feel loved.
