Week 62
I took a quick trip to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park in Botswana. The falls were at their peak, powerful and amazing. Even with a full length raincoat, my clothes still got wet. The mist was so heavy that I couldn’t even see the falls on about half of the 13 lookouts. This was a very different experience than when I went in September when there had been no rain for over a year. I could see all of the falls in September, which was good. But this time, I felt them and heard them roar. Lesson learned: Whether in times of drought or plenty, there is always something good to find.
At Chobe, I did a river cruise and land drive. I saw crocodiles, elephants, hippos, lions, elands, impalas, baboons, buffalo, black-backed jackals, guineafowls and monkeys.
