Week 57

This week, Elder Rebo was looking at the Mission Board.  He told me he really didn't like his picture and felt a little embarrassed about it.  Most of these pictures are the ones they submitted with their missionary applications.  He was so happy when I told him I would take a new picture and put it on the board.  I love being able to help these young Elders and Sisters.  I am careful not to refer to them as "kids" or "boys or girls".  I have so much respect for them and the sacrifice they are making to work long days in an effort to teach the many, many people who want to hear the message they bring.  They are so appreciative of any little thing that is done for them.  I just love them.

This is one of the APs.  He was having fun with a mirror in the office on Monday.  It made me laugh and I took this picture.  On Friday, he had to swerve to prevent hitting a car that was coming towards him and his companion and his truck rolled over 3 times.  Miraculously, they are OK.  48 hours earlier, another companionship were involved in an accident where their truck also rolled over.  They, too, are OK.  We didn't have enough vehicles to serve the needs of the missionaries and are now two trucks down.  But we have 4 live missionaries who survived when, if you could see pictures of the trucks,  the odds were certainly against them.  We have angels among us.

The seniors went to an authentic Zimbabwe restaurant Friday night.  They were adventurous with their selections of real Zimbabwe food which they ate with their fingers because that's how it is done here.  I wasn't feeling the adventure and chose pork chops and fries which I ate with a knife and fork.  It was raining heavily while we ate.  This is a fun group of people.
