Week 46
I am loving working as the Mission Secretary. My job is to help and support the young Elders and Sisters so they can do the work they have been called to do. Everyday, I hear, "Sister Stephens, we need...." many times. Those needs include, cases of Book of Mormon, pamphlets, badges, International Driving Permits, English Connect materials and more. I help missionaries when they arrive and depart. Much of my time is spent at my second job as Rent Coordinator paying landlords and keeping up with everything involved with processing new houses and landlords. I stay busy but happy because I get to interact with fabulous young missionaries almost every day.
I love the Arcturus Branch we have been attending for the last month. There are about 60 in attendance each week. This picture was taking at the end of Sacrament Meeting. Nobody has a car except the Branch President and missionaries. They walk to church, some taking about and hour.
This is the chorister. It doesn't matter that there is no piano. Her strong, beautiful voice is all the accompaniment that is needed. She is also the Relief Society President.
This is the Primary President. Her love for the children is mighty.
It takes us about an hour to drive to church. Half of the time is spent on bumpy, narrow dirt roads with lots of puddles after it rains. And it has rained almost everyday for the past month.
Diana helped with training at a Stake Primary training meeting on Saturday. I had such a good time and loved meeting new sisters.
Three new couples have arrived in the mission recently and 2 will be arriving soon. There's lots of work to do and it is great to have enough seniors to do it. One of the couples is taking over the English Connect and Self-Reliance classes that I was doing. I am so thankful for that. President and Sister Davis are not included in this picture.
