Week 33
This is the Borrowdale Ward Primary. They blessed us today with beautiful music and sincere testimonies of Jesus Christ. I love being a part of this ward family. I was also able to see two of my grandchildren in their Primary Program via Zoom. I love being able to communicate with family via WhatsApp and Zoom. I thank the geniuses who developed these technologies.
Even though my nursery babes were not a part of the program, they were invited to come to the Primary room after the program for meat pies, cookies, banana bread, fruit and juice. This is my little shadow, Lorraine, eating her meat pie. She wasn't much interested in the cookies and banana bread.
This is Joseph. He is a sculptor and has a booth at an outdoor market I frequently go to. I found this statue that I just love! For those who know me well, I love all things "Mammas and Babies".
Zoom in so you can see this precious baby's face.
I am learning about the front desk responsibilities. As usual, there is sometimes lots of activity. Not so much that I can't get work done but just enough to keep things interesting.
This is one of the guards at the Mission Office. Her name is Abigail. She was recently baptized but has to work on Sunday and can't attend church. She has limited data on her phone so she could not watch conference. I have unlimited data on my mission phone so I let her use my phone one day so she could watch conference. You would have thought I had given her a car. She was so excited to tell me about the talks she listened to. She is truly an amazing woman.
We splurged a bit on Friday night and went to a very nice restaurant called Wombles. One of our waiters saw our badges and asked us if we knew Mr. and Mrs. Nelson. We asked if he meant Mr. and Mrs. Russell Nelson. That was them he told us. They had eaten at a Wombles in South Africa in 2018. He had waited on them when he worked there. He asked us to tell them hello the next time we saw them.
IT RAINED YESTERDAY!!!! Lots and lots of glorious rain. I imagine hundreds of thousands of prayers of gratitude were sent Heavenward. Hopefully this will be the beginning of an abundant rainy season.
