Week 11

Diana and I have been attending the Borrowdale Ward for the past 6 weeks.  We have helped out in Nursery four of those weeks.  Today, it was decided that one of us needed to be prepared to be in there each week.  "Me, Me, Me!!!!!!!!!!!" I said.  I am in my element now.  I helped at a Relief Society activity on Saturday and gave a Sacrament talk today.  I am now feeling like I'm part of the ward.  We will probably stay in this ward until the end of August because many of the US embassy workers attend this ward and the moms and kids go back to US for the summer so Diana and I will help where needed while they are gone.

The Relief Society meeting on Saturday was a great success and so much fun.  Two of the other senior sister missionaries, Bonnie and Lori, and I helped the sisters with family history so they print cards and have them ready for ordinances when the temple opens.  It will be sometime in 2025 but these sisters were already excited to be able to find ancestors for whom they can perform ordinances.

Sarah was so happy to find some ancestors who needed work done.

This is a counselor in the Relief Society Presidency.  She was helping with the activity and someone was holding her sweet baby girl.  The baby got fussy so her mamma strapped her on and she was as content as could be.  I've never seen a baby cry while cuddled on her mother's back.  If I had known about this when I had my babies, I would have saved money on all those expensive front and back baby carriers and just bought a beach towel.  Look at that contented face!

As I've said in previous posts, one of the responsibilities I like most is caring for the young elders and sisters.  Bonnie and Lori live next to us and they had these Elders over for dinner this past week.  They made plenty of food for these hungry Elders who expressed such heartfelt gratitude for a good meal.

HOW DO THEY DO IT?????
